Located on the Gulf Coast in Okaloosa County, Destin is known as the "World's Luckiest Fishing Village." This Florida Panhandle community has just over 12,000 residents. Along with the sun, sand and surf of Henderson State Park, residents enjoy nature trails through the sand dunes of the Gulf Islands National Seashore that feature a variety of wildlife. Big Kahuna Water and Adventure Park offers a variety of rides, slides and wave pools. The community hosts several cultural festivals throughout the year, including the Seafood Festival and Fishing Rodeo. Along with the Destin History and Fishing Museum, the community is home to some of the area's best shopping and dining.
